A Vermont man has been sentenced to nearly six years in prison for his role in a Keene, New Hampshire-based drug trafficking ring.Lamar Carter, 33, pled guilty back in December of 2023 to conspiring to distribute a controlled substance in New Hampshire.Several people have been charged in the case, but investigators said Carter was a leader of a drug trafficking ring operating out of a home and various hotels in the area. According to court documents, Carter and other members of his organization obtained powder cocaine from New Jersey and used it to manufacture crack, which was distributed in and around Keene, New Hampshire. During the investigation, 364 grams of cocaine base and 2 handguns were seized.Others who worked for Carter have already been sentenced.
