Blue Ash police investigating series of car break-ins, gun thefts in the last month
END OF THE WEEK. SHEREE. ALL RIGHT. KEVIN, THANKS SO MUCH. A LOT OF YOU HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS HERE LATELY AND OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS, THE NUMBER OF CAR BREAK INS ACROSS OUR AREA HAS REALLY BEEN INCREASING. BUT ONE COMMUNITY IN PARTICULAR HIT THE HARDEST OVER THE WEEKEND, AND WLWT NEWS FIVE ANCHOR CHRIS JACOBS ON THE STORY FOR US LIVE IN BLUE ASH WITH THE MESSAGE FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT. HI CHRIS. YEAH, MIKE, SHEREE AND BLUE ASH’S POLICE CHIEF, SCOTT NOLL IS TELLING US THAT MULTIPLE NEIGHBORHOODS ALL ACROSS CINCINNATI HAVE BEEN GETTING HIT. THEY INCLUDE SHARONVILLE, MASON, BLUE ASH REDDING, AND DEER PARK. AND THIS IS LEADING TO HUNDREDS OF CAR BREAK INS IN THOSE AREAS. THIS IS OVER THE PAST 30 DAYS OR SO, BUT AS YOU MENTIONED IT IN BLUE ASH ALONE OVER THE PAST MONTH, 84 CARS HAVE BEEN BROKEN INTO. NOW, THESE LAW AGENCIES, THEY’RE WORKING TOGETHER TO FIGURE OUT HOW AND WHY THIS KEEPS HAPPENING. OVER THE PAST WEEKEND, JUST AT LEAST 22 TO 30 CARS WERE BROKEN INTO, MAINLY AT TWO COMPLEXES HERE IN BLUE ASH, FOX RUN AND DEER CROSS APARTMENTS. SO WE’RE OUTSIDE OF DEER CROSS RIGHT NOW, AND FOX RUN ONLY A COUPLE MINUTES UP THE ROAD. CHIEF NOEL IS STRESSING THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT LEAVING ANYTHING OF VALUE IN YOUR CAR, ESPECIALLY FIREARMS. DON’T LEAVE ANYTHING IN PLAIN SIGHT. IT DOESN’T MATTER NOW. YOU KNOW THESE CAR WINDOWS ARE BEING BROKEN. THESE AREN’T UNLOCKED CARS. ALL THESE CARS THIS WEEKEND WERE LOCKED CARS THAT HAD THE WINDOWS PUNCHED AND THEN THEY’RE GETTING IN THE CAR. IF THEY DON’T, YOU KNOW, IF THERE’S NOTHING OF VALUE, THEN THEY MOVE ON. BUT IT DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU HAVE IT HIDDEN. THEY’RE FINDING IT. AND CHIEF NOEL IS TELLING US THERE HAVEN’T BEEN ANY ARRESTS JUST YET. THEY’RE STILL INVESTIGATING, BUT THEY DO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS 4 TO 5 MALE SUSPECTS THEY’RE INVESTIGATING. RIGHT NOW. AND THEY DO SAY THAT IF YOU SEE SOMETHING HAPPENING, ONE OF THESE CAR BREAK INS, A CRIME TAKING PLACE, THEY SAY, DON’T APPROACH THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY DO BELIEVE THEY ARE ARMED. REPORTING LIVE IN BLUE ASH, CHRI
