Resident’s vehicle stolen while he was working in Euclid: Gates Mills Police Blotter

Around 2 a.m. April 26, Cleveland Heights police requested that officers check a residence to see if a car had been stolen from the property.

They said the vehicle was driving recklessly in their city at speeds of 100 mph and had crashed. Three unknown suspects then fled on foot.

Officers checked at the home and discovered that the vehicle belonged to the homeowner’s son, who was at work at Euclid Hospital.

The man was contacted and checked the parking lot at the hospital. He confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen.

He was advised to file a report with Euclid police.

Welfare check: Mayfield Road

Officers responded to the area near Chagrin River Road April 21 on a report of a disheveled man walking in the roadway.

The man was located and said he was walking to Mayfield Heights. He declined a courtesy ride.

Open building: Old Mill Road

While performing premises checks around 3 a.m. April 23, officers located an unsecured door at St. Christopher Church.

They confirmed that everything was OK inside the building and re-secured the door.

Traffic stop: Mayfield Road

A Chester Township man, 23, was cited for reckless operation and rapid acceleration after his vehicle was pulled over at Mayfield and County Line roads April 25.

General assistance: Mayfield Road

A mattress fell from the top of a vehicle that was traveling west near Chagrin River Road April 27.

An officer helped the driver remove it from the roadway.
